GMC Software Technology has launched an enhanced version of its Printnet T Triple Suite document design and composition software.

GMC Software Technology has launched an enhanced version of its Printnet T Triple Suite document design and composition software It is a single environment, all-in-one tool for layout creation, structured variable and fixed data processing and high-speed printing of invoices, statements, direct mail and other data-driven applications

GMC said it is designed to be easy to operate, even by staff with no programming experience.

GMC claimed that unlike many other products on the market, Printnet T seamlessly links the design and production phases of document workflow for greater efficiency and control.

Not just confined to print and data exchange functions, it can also be integrated into CRM, Email and other systems to create a totally automated business process.

The latest version includes a new message management feature, for more precise target marketing.

It is claimed to enable marketing teams to independently create various promotional messages and the rules for deciding who receives what under which circumstance, the software will also trace and report back on who has received which message.

There are also enhancements to its workflow, layout, design impositioning, proofing and production modules.

GMC believes that designers can use the new curve drawing tools and 'text on a curve' features for placing static and variable text on an irregularly shaped path drawn on a page.

A Minmax generator solves the common problem of creating a layout that accommodates the shortest and longest entries in certain fields - names, for example, can vary greatly in length.

It automatically analyses a data file and identifies the shortest and longest fields, so it is possible to see the two extremes.

That is very useful for checking text wrapping and overflow based on the actual field length, avoiding layout and design problems said GMC.

The integrated proofing tools include a new 'find' feature that lets users quickly search a job for specified text.

Device-dependent proofing means a document can be automatically formatted to any device - colour printer and email, for instance - without further changes and the proof created shows exactly what the finished document will look like.
