Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Feb 1, 2010

GMC Software Technology has opened a new office in Italy in Milan, that will build on GMC's current penetration among print service providers and enterprise customers.

The company said that the new office will also help the company fulfil increasing demand for its products and services in the direct mail, financial, marketing and transactional printing sectors.

The Italian office will be responsible for all marketing, support and partner activities throughout the region, as well as providing prospects and customers with access to GMC's product line for developing and managing personalised communications, direct marketing, transactional, multi-channel and transpromotional communications.

The office will also have a role in generating awareness for GMC, added the company.

The new office is under the direction of GMC's country manager, Riccardo Babbini, who has held sales and management positions with EMC, Oracle and Sun Microsystems as well as being the managing director for Crytptomathic in southern Europe before joining GMC Software Technology.

Babbini has an engineering degree from Politecnico University of Torino, Italy and a master of sciences degree in IT-Security from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
