Screen Printers Can Get Products In New Materials
Labels and nameplates manufacturer, GSM Graphic Arts, is enabling screen printers and engravers to obtain labels, nameplates or fascias in materials that outside their normal capacities.
Primodome is a type of domed label that can simulate brass, silver, copper or wood, or be matched to a range of colours.
Finishes include matt, antique and high gloss, said GSM.
Young originally trained as a chemist before working in the pharmaceutical and printing industry for a range of companies based in the UK and Europe.
He also brings board-level experience to GSM Graphic Arts.
He said: "GSM Graphic Arts is one of the strongest companies I have worked for.
After working in the UK and Europe, its technical innovation and can-do attitude really attracted me to the company.
I look forward to drawing on the expertise and resources of GSM and meeting our customers' requirements." GSM Graphic Arts general manager, Rudy Pearce, said: "Peter's background in chemistry and his in-depth knowledge of the print industry make him a distinct asset to GSM Graphic Arts.
He is the ideal person to head up our operations and I am confident he will take our production forward in to a successful 2006." GSM Graphic Arts specialises in domed, metal and plastic labels.
Offering laser engraving, etching and anodising, assembly, design studio and light fabrication, it will manufacture anything from a one-off product to a run of 10,000, it said.
GSM Graphic Arts is part of the GSM Group, one of Europe's largest manufacturers of printed labels and nameplates in metal and plastics and has manufacturing sites in Wales, Oxfordshire and Bedfordshire (UK).
