World First Printing System For Irish Paper
Independent News and Media will install the world's first Goss Flexible Printing System (FPS) press in Northern Ireland.
The technical committee of the JNPA chose a total of six products from 54 exhibitors at the show for technical development awards.
Goss International was the only manufacturer to be recognised for press innovation.
The judges commented that, 'the FPS press contains many unique ideas and technologies', and cited its compact tower design and flexibility for changing product formats as specific innovations.
The Flexible Printing System press is designed for high-quality printing at up to 90,000 copies per hour and for versatility.
Incorporating proven concepts from Goss Colorliner presses, the new press features slide-apart inker technology that allows the plate and blanket cylinder section to be changed to vary the product format, said Goss.
Four-high FPS towers have a first to last impression distance of 2.7 metres and systems can be configured for heatset or non-heatset printing.
