Successful Italian Show For Goss With Press Orders
Goss's continuing success in the Italian market was underlined at Italy's international print show, Grafitalia from May 9 -13.
Diodato Mercurio, managing director of Grafiche Mercurio, explained: "We currently run a Goss M-300 and we have been very happy with its productivity and performance.
We chose the Sunday 4000 press because of its excellent print quality and productivity.
The Autoplate feature offers us increased automation and faster make-readies, allowing us to deliver shorter runs to our customers at very competitive prices." The Sunday 4000 will be the first 48-page press to be installed in the center south of Italy, said Goss.
The automated press will be used to print a variety of commercial products and inserts for existing customers, as well as opening up new opportunities to print brochures and magazines.
The press will be delivered in December to a newly-built facility housing a full range of pre-press, press and finishing equipment for both web and sheetfed print.
Francesco Rapisardi, from Macchingraf, Goss International's commercial agent in Italy, explained: "The Italian market has seen a growing demand for shorter runs and printers are looking for the highest quality.
The Sunday 4000 48-page press offers an ideal option for printers looking to respond to these developments." Grafiche Mercurio is a family business run by Diodato Mercurio, responsible for the strategic management of the company and his brother Gerardo Mercurio, the technical and operational manager.
The company, which was established in the 1960s, is now welcoming the second generation of the family in to the business - Diodato's son Salvatore who has a growing role in the commercial area.
The company works with a number of large distributors and retailers in the Salerno area and employs around 50 people across two sites, offering both web and sheetfed print.
