Italian printer Centro Stampa Editoriale has ordered a Goss Universal 75 press for its Grisignano site in northern Italy.

Italian printer Centro Stampa Editoriale has ordered a Goss Universal 75 press for its Grisignano site in northern Italy.

The investment will deliver the increased capacity required for a new contract with national daily newspaper Libero.

Mirco and Andrea Comin, owners of Centro Stampa Editoriale, commented: "We chose the Universal 75 press primarily for its high quality, speed and flexibility.

It has an excellent and proven reputation in the marketplace and, as we already have a Goss press, we know and trust the Goss International organisation to meet our expectations and deadlines." Scheduled for installation in spring 2007, the 16-page single-width, two-around Universal 75 press will produce the new 64-page tabloid publication in full-colour.

The press will be configured as four four-high towers, a 2:3:3 jaw folder with quarterfold, four Megtec DLP 1000 splicers and a 60cm cut-off.

It will also be equipped with automatic register controls, a blanket wash-up system and automatic pre-setting of ink keys direct from pre-press data.

Producing magazines, brochures, catalogues, books, manuals and posters, as well as newspapers, the Comin group, which owns Centro Stampa Editoriale, has an existing Goss Community press capable of producing 64 tabloid pages, with 32-pages in full colour.

Mirco and Andrea Comin continued: "In recent years our customers have demanded more colour with increased paginations and new product sizes.

To continue to remain competitive we must invest in technology that allows us to deliver on those demands.

This is why we have chosen the Universal press for this latest investment.

From our previous experience we also know we can rely on Goss International to provide first-rate after sales support, which is very important to us." Founded in 1998 Centro Stampa Editoriale is a part of the Comin group.

With sites at Mestre-Venezia (Comp-Editoriale) and Grisignano di Zocco (Vicenza), the group employs around 70 people.
