Goss International announced that it will have a major presence at Drupa 2004 in May and will present future concepts to drive print.
According to Jadwiga Mojzesowicz-Bilewska, president of Ortis S A: "Competition in the commercial market is very high, so understanding our customers' specific needs is the key to our success.
We constantly evaluate our services through market research and customer surveys to gauge expectations and requirements and over the years, we have noticed a growing demand for faster turn-arounds on shorter run lengths but still with the requirement for excellent printing quality." Ortis S A has chosen the M-600 web offset press to better service its clients, citing the proven design of the press model as the key factor to its decision, said Goss.
Mojzesowicz-Bilewska explained: "We wanted a press that would increase our existing capacity and enable us to meet current and future customer demands.

One of the largest magazine and catalogue printers in North America has ordered two new gapless web presses and three finishing systems from Goss International.
The M-600 press is well-known for its solid reliability and excellent print quality and in addition, its ability to achieve faster make-readies through the Autoplate plate changing system, will enable us to deliver to our customers much faster." Ortis S A currently runs three web offset presses and one sheetfed press.
The installation of the M-600 press will open up new business opportunities for the company, including a range of new products.
With a claimed speed of up to 55,000 impressions per hour, the M-600 press at Ortis S A will include waste reduction features that make it suitable for print shorter runs competitively, claimed Goss.
In addition, the order comprises the Goss Ecocool dryer that improves print quality, enhances web control and reduces space requirements.
Jadwiga Mojzesowicz-Bilewska concluded: "We have recently adapted our on-site facility to include a warehouse and have purchased perfect binding and saddle-stitching equipment.
We are confident that our investment in the Goss M-600 press will increase our competitive positioning in the market and enable us to explore new production possibilities." Ortis S A offers a range of polygraphic services across Europe connected with printing and binding magazines, promotional materials and books.
Its list of customers include publishers such as Egmont and Edipresse, Kaufland, Metro, Aga Press and international advertising agency McCann Erikson, as well a number of national retailers.
Based in Bydgoszcz, Ortis S A was founded 60 years ago and employs a team of 310 people.
It is part of a consortium with Prasowe Zaklady Graficzne S A in Wroclaw and is in co-operation with Drukarnia Poznanska.
It is also the founder and one of the main shareholders of the joint stock company Artis ID, which is the largest producer of plastic cards in central and eastern Europe.
Goss International said it is experiencing continuing success in the Polish market.
The Polish graphic arts business has been growing constantly since the 1990s and printing activities are now contributing significantly to the economic growth of the country.
The company said that it installed close to two-thirds of the new web offset commercial presses in Poland.
