Catalogue, publication and newspaper printer Creel is to install a new Goss Magnum 4 single-width newspaper press.
The four-page press with eight four-high towers and two Goss N-40 folders will go in to production in June in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) The new Magnum 4 press at Creel Printing will have a 22-inch cut-off, 35-inch web-width, Goss Omnicon controls and quarter-fold capabilities

Goss International announced that it will have a major presence at Drupa 2004 in May and will present future concepts to drive print.
Magnum 4 presses are claimed to print at up to 45,000 copies per hour and the eight-web configuration at Creel printing with the N-40 1:2 jaw folders will produce up to 35,000 copies per hour.
Allan Creel Junior, president of Creel Printing, said: "We are continuing to grow and we are experiencing an increase in the number of weekly regional newspapers we are producing in the Las Vegas area.
Proven performance and versatility made the Magnum press a good fit for us." He added: "We looked at a lot of press systems and made our decision based on our confidence in this technology and our confidence in the Goss International team.
We have a very strong relationship and we know we can depend on their expertise, their support and their products." Creel Printing operates several Goss press and finishing systems.
The company added new Goss Sunday 2000 16-page gapless commercial web presses in 2003 and 2005 and a Pacesetter 1100 saddlestitcher in 2005.
Allan Creel said he sees a growing opportunity for commercial printing operations to produce daily and weekly newspapers and commented: "We see an increasing demand, particularly in the southwest region of the United States, for printers that can offer higher print quality and more efficient press performance across a wide range of products and formats.
We are continuing to invest in response to that demand." Creel Printing has facilities in Las Vegas and Costa Mesa, California.
The company operates around the clock, seven days-a-week and provides CTP pre-press and proofing, digital and sheetfed printing, coldset and heatset web printing, as well as a range of in-house finishing and mailing services.
