Fifth Goss Web Press For Indonesian Book Printer

Goss International has sealed a deal to supply two more Community SSC presses to Jakarta (Indonesia) book publisher, Ganeca Exact, just after the firm's third Community machine was commissioned.

The Community presses have been ordered to meet growing market requirements for the production of school books.

Each new Community SSC press will consist of two four-high printing towers, one SSC folder with quarter folder capability and two splicers.

As one of the largest school book publishers in Indonesia, Ganeca Exact had a 15 per cent market share in 2006 with a total of 15 million books printed.

Its first Community press was installed in 2005.

With the third Community press now in production and the two new presses schedule to enter production at the end of this year, the company expects to increase annual production to 25 million pieces and to grow its market share.

K Suardhana, founder of Ganeca Exact, said: "Most of our products are for high schools and junior schools.

Having realised that education has been neglected for a number of years, the Indonesian government is now committed to this area and so it has increased its spending." According to Goss, confidence and past experience with the Shanghai-manufactured Community SSC press was the decisive factor for the latest investment by Ganeca Exact.

Suardhana added: "These presses meet all our requirements.

They are easy to operate with good print quality, fast turn-arounds and the price is right.

This has made us very competitive in the market." Other than performance and technology, Suardhana also explained that the reliable service he has received from Goss International's local agent, Web Sistim Servis, was a key factor for the purchase.
