Double-Circumference Press Debuts At
Ipex In India
Goss's new 32-page double-circumference M-800 press will be the focal point of its presence at the first Ipex South Asia exhibition, which runs from October 24 - 27 in New Delhi (India).
The new two-around Goss M-800 press is said to utilise proven design elements from existing Goss presses, including Sunday systems The M-800 press can be equipped with a JF-70 Collect folder to print up to 35,000 32-page signatures per hour in collect production or 70,000 16-page signatures in straight production, claimed the company

Goss International announced that it will have a major presence at Drupa 2004 in May and will present future concepts to drive print.
The M-800 press incorporates inking and dampening systems, multidrive, an in-line cylinder stack and bearer-less cylinders from the Goss Sunday press range.
Goss's stand - number 3D01 - will also feature the company's M-500 press, which is available in cut-offs from 546mm to 598mm and in web widths of 914mm or 965mm.
It features a 1:1 in-line cylinder stack, 14-roll ink train, one or two web configuration options and a choice of Goss folders to produce up to 18 formats.

One of the largest magazine and catalogue printers in North America has ordered two new gapless web presses and three finishing systems from Goss International.
12-page and eight-page M-500 press models are also available.
Goss said that to enhance productivity, M-500, M-800 and M-600 presses are equipped with the company's Omnicon controls.
Goss Web Center workflow modules, including the Omni Makeready system, are designed to automate production for faster start-ups and reduced waste, claimed Goss.
TIm Mercy, vice president for commercial press sales in the Asia-Pacific region for Goss, explained: "Goss International has the most advanced and dependable press technology, delivering the highest value for printers of all different sizes, requirements and aspirations.
Web printing provides obvious benefits in terms of production speeds and the print quality, efficiency and waste reduction features of Goss web presses give web offset a competitive advantage over sheetfed printing for many short-run applications in this region." He added: "The 4x4 M-800 press is an important addition to the portfolio, introducing a unique combination of value and performance advantages to the double-circumference commercial press sector." Mercy stressed that the value and straightforward designs make the Goss M-500 and M-800 presses easy to own and operate and that the presses give printers complementary one-around and two-around press options with four-page web widths.
He also pointed out that Goss International offers the M-600 press.
Thomson Press in Mumbai, said to be the largest commercial printer in Southern Asia, has invested in a M-600 D press at its Navi Mumbai site.
The company installed the first D model M-600 press in India, operating at claimed speeds up to 70,000 impression per hour (iph) and featuring multidrive technology, as well as Autoplate automatic plate changing for claimed faster make-readies and the ability to print shorter runs competitively.
Goss believes it maintains a strong market position in the commercial printing industries in India and other Asian markets.
The M-600 and Sunday web press systems are prevalent, whilst the company also offers partnership and added value to customers through the Lifetime Support 24/7 aftermarket service and services from a network of local agents in the region.
Mercy said that the creation of the new Ipex South Asia exhibition recognises the increased importance of the region within the global graphic arts industry.
He added that the Goss products to be spotlighted at Ipex South Asia demonstrate the company's response to that development and the growing emphasis on productivity and quality in many of the South Asian markets.
