Web Press Makes Printer's Short-Run Efficiency
Investing to meet the growing volume demands of customers, Southwest Offset Printing has bought an automated Goss M-600 web press, the second such press at its Gardena, California (USA) plant.
The five-unit Goss M-600 press at Chinchio runs at claimed speeds of up to 55,000 impressions per hour (iph) and features Goss's Autoplate automatic plate changing and a JF-55 folder with double parallel and delta fold capacity.

Roberto Chinchio, the president of Chinchio Industria Grafica, said: "We are a well-known and reputed sheetfed printer in this region but we have been looking for technology that will further differentiate us from the competition.
We want to innovate to offer more to our customers and the new M-600 web offset press allows us to do just that.
Through its combined speed and quality, this press gives us a real competitive edge in the borderline sheet and web magazine market, whilst also enabling us to offer a wider variety of products." And managing director Alessandro Chinchio, explained: "The addition of unique technology, such as the Autoplate will ensure that we remain efficient throughout the production process.
Time savings and improved turn-around times for our customers make this a very flexible and welcome addition to our stable of existing sheetfed presses." Founded 30 years ago, Chinchio Industria Grafica Spa employs 90 people at its 6,000 square metre operation, which houses a full-service facility from pre-press and printing to finishing and logistics.
