Drupa Sees Goss Show Sheetfed Print

Goss International will demonstrate a new press system at Drupa 2008 that will be in full operation, with technology claimed to provide a productive alternative for traditional sheetfed applications.
Additional printing units that will be shown on the Goss International stand in hall 17 at Drupa 2008 will include Magnum 4, Uniliner, FPS and Sunday 4000 models, all with new features and capabilities The company will also highlight what is claimed to be the world's first 96-page Sunday 5000 web press and demonstrate its latest Magnapak and Pacesetter finishing systems

Goss International announced that it will have a major presence at Drupa 2004 in May and will present future concepts to drive print.
Goss added that new technology aimed at shorter run lengths and higher paginations will be amongst its developments at Drupa.
It said that it will profile installations that are utilising its Automatic Transfer (AT) Sunday presses for continuous printing and that 12 presses with the Autoplate and Automatic Transfer technology combination are now in operation worldwide, including eight-unit presses that are said to complete full-colour job changes on the fly.
Goss International will also exhibit the new 96-page Sunday 5000 press and present simulations showing how its gapless blanket technology, machining and cooperation with auxiliary and consumables suppliers enable the wider platform.

US Catalogue Printer Buys Two Gapless Goss Presses
One of the largest magazine and catalogue printers in North America has ordered two new gapless web presses and three finishing systems from Goss International.
The first Sunday 5000 press will be installed in Italy later this year with a web width of 2,860mm (112").
The company's Web Center workflow systems for commercial and newspaper applications will also be demonstrated at Drupa, including new automation and waste reduction features.
The FPS press, which was first introduced at the Drupa 2004 exhibition, will be featured this year with slide-apart units, cut-off change capabilities and a range of web-width and ribbon options.
The first FPS system now prints two million coldset, heatset and combined products weekly at Independent News and Media in Northern Ireland.
A second installation is currently underway in The Netherlands and a triple-width FPS press will be installed in the United States following this year's Drupa.
Goss added that Uniliner and Magnum presses remain cornerstones of its product range for newspaper and semi-commercial applications worldwide.
New Uniliner features that will be demonstrated at Drupa will include automated plate changing.
An eight-page Magnum press tower will also be displayed with a new level shaftless drive system and three-form inker.
