New Products And Glimpse Of Future From Goss
Goss International announced that it will have a major presence at Drupa 2004 in May and will present future concepts to drive print.
It also eliminates the necessity for two choppers, which means less setting, easier access and less maintenance to maximise the functions of the M-600 press.
The JF-65 SQF folder also features a web severing device for paper jams, as well as motorised on-the-run depth and lateral adjustment of the perforation and circumferential phasing and fold lap adjustment.
There is also a three-part jaw folding cylinder to accommodate various paper stock thicknesses and a rotary blade quarterfold assembly.
Goss commented that greater production flexibility is provided by automatic product change-overs that enable the fold to be changed in less than two minutes.
Jean-Claude Pautrat, product management director at Goss International, explained: "Before this technical improvement, high speeds were only possible by sending consecutive copies through an upper and lower chopper.
Now, through a combination of innovations, including a new tape transport system with copy control devices, optimised chopper balancing, vacuum slow-down, enhanced guides and optimised delivery, we have been able to eliminate one chopper for a streamlined and more efficient folding operation." He added: "Easy to maintain and operate and with less waste produced, this folder has been designed specifically to provide a very smooth path for ensuring high-quality final products.
By eliminating the second chopper we have simplified the folding process and increased production efficiency through a combination of built-in quality control and user-friendly features.".
