Printer Makes Calendar Year Starting In April

A Haven Colourprint UK product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Apr 26, 2007

A tax year calendar designed and printed by Haven Colourprint UK, has been released by the Welsh printing company.

The calendar, which runs from April 2007 to March 2008, has been specifically designed so that each image can be trimmed to fit in a standard 20" x 16" picture frame.

Haven Colourprint worked with photographer Kiran Ridley whose images and portraits have been featured in such publications as The Sunday Times Magazine, The Washington Post and the Guardian and Economist magazines.

Ridley, whose work has been featured at The Royal Photographic Society, as well as various other galleries and venues, has captured a series of images for the calendar that feature subjects such as Cirque de Soleil and the summer solstice at Stonehenge.

The calendar was the idea of Haven Colourprint UK managing director Karl Long.

He explained: "What we intended to do was to produce a colourful and imaginative piece of print that was not only pleasing to the eye but could also facilitate the images being utilised for future use, hence the picture framing feature.

We also hope it goes some way to take people's minds off the tax year ahead." The calendar was produced for Colourprint UK and Haven Colourprint UK, along with a small print run for Kiran Ridley.

It was designed and printed at Haven Colourprint UK's Pembroke Dock facility, on a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL-105 press, using Claro Gloss (200gsm and 170gsm) and 385 micron Gemini C1-S, all of which were supplied UK national paper merchant, the James McNaughton Group.
