Pre-Press Server Systems Now For Windows Platforms

Formerly available only on major UNIX-based platforms, Helios Software's UB unbreakable server systems for pre-press networks now run on Microsoft Windows based computers.

Helios will introduce the new products for Windows at Ifra Expo in Amsterdam (The netherlands) from October 9 - 12, and at Graph Expo in Chicago (USA) from October 15 - 18.

The UB product family includes Base UB for Windows, providing print services and Webshare UB for secure web-based file sharing, distribution, and document collaboration.

Helios's Imageserver UB, PDF Handshake UB and Printpreview UB are claimed to bring efficiency and advanced capabilities to office, design, pre-press, and printing operations.

Helios said that UB server users from around the world include USA Today, Le Figaro of France, Mirror Group in the UK, and Mohn Media in Germany, amongst others.

The company said that for them, Helios server systems are considered the most reliable, secure and fastest available for enterprise and pre-press networks, offering cross-platform local and internet file sharing and printing, with PDF, image conversion, colour management, and proofing.
