On the HP stand - M460 - at the UK's Northprint exhibition yesterday, Printable highlighted two additions to its main product, Printfusion 3, an on-demand system for the HP Indigo 5000 press workflow The first addition, Jobxpress, is an on-line print job submission tool that is claimed to allow customers to create new print job requests from their desktop that can be sent automatically to their print supplier

The second addition is an enhanced variable data driven imaging system that allows customers to create dramatic 3D text and visual effects with PDF template images, said HP.

The new functions allow users to customise images located in a printable system image library so that images are used to create text or colours are made to follow the contours of an object, added the company.

HP's Adrian Stark commented: "These two new additions from Printable provide both HP and Printable customers with even more innovative ways to offer added-value services to their clients.

We recognise the value and growing importance of collateral management and variable data and working with partners such as Printable allows us stay at the cutting edge of the industry." On the company's Northprint stand HP is showing a selection of presses including the Indigo 5000, which is making one of its first appearances at a UK print trade show.

It features production management software and paper handling and represents the model approach for creating a highly profitable digital printing business, said HP.

Also on show is the Indigo 1050 that is designed for smaller commercial printers, providing a cost effective, low risk point of entry in to the rapidly growing digital print market, believes HP.

Stark concluded: "This is a very exciting show for HP Indigo.

On the stand we will be highlighting the potential of digital print technology in specific commercial applications such as collateral management, direct marketing, book publishing and professional photo printing.

Our breadth of products are unrivalled in the market and Northprint provides an excellent platform for us to demonstrate these capabilities alongside our partners.".
