Indigo Presses Offer Colour Personalised Print
Computershare Investor Services plc has installed two HP Indigo press 3050s to offer in-house, full-colour personalisation to its clients in the financial, commercial and utilities industries.
Computershare Investor Services plc has installed two HP Indigo press 3050s to offer in-house, full-colour personalisation to its clients in the financial, commercial and utilities industries.
Computershare Document Services, the printing division of the global share registry corporation, is now seeking to extend its services to a wider range of markets.
Andrew Law, the sales and marketing manager for Computershare Document Services said: "We were previously operating on mono-printers and always outsourced any colour work but identified this as something we could really develop.
Purchasing the two Indigo press 3050s will be the key to this progression.
We are already experienced in data management and we can now utilise this expertise to produce full-colour personalised print to both new and existing clients." The company produces personalised investor relations information to shareholders of around 26 per cent of the FTSE 250 across the EMEA region and that is a demanding market.
Law continued: "With the opportunity to now digitally print this material in-house we can offer our clients better value and a greater range of services.
The investment will also open up an array of exciting opportunities for variable content printing in new markets." As well as producing tailored communications to shareholders, Computershare Document Services also has clients in the financial and utilities industries.
"Over the last four years we have extended our printing services to clients requiring printed documentation of bills and financial statements that use special corporate colours to retain a strong brand identity.
We never had the capacity to produce the colour personalisation in-house, but now with the six-colour Indigo press 3050 we can provide the complete, cost-effective work to our clients in faster turn-arounds." As an APACS accredited firm, clients with security as a priority are a key market for Computershare.
Customers require the company to produce important documentation with highly sensitive data.
Law commented: "With our newly developed in-house facility, we can complete the fully personalised order without having to send work elsewhere.
This will be a key benefit to customers and will enable us to increase our business opportunities in this area." Computershare also has its own relationship management agency, Pepper, which has clients in retail, finance and the automotive industry.
With the investment in the new presses, Computershare Document Services is aiming to secure variable data direct-mail work from the agency.
Law believes that with the company's in-house digital printing facility it can expand its business in many directions to secure long-term growth for the business.
The HP Indigo press 3050 is claimed to be suitable for a virtually unlimited substrate flexibility and is said to have the ability to accurately match up to 97 per cent of Pantone colours.
That allows printers to offer the broadest range of services to clients, for maximum return on investment, said HP.
"The new press enables us to offer our clients exactly the services they need.
The substrate flexibility is a key feature for us, as we produce a wide spectrum of products from dense share certificates to lightweight utility bills, now we can produce all of this in-house on the HP Indigo press 3050," said Law.
UK marketing manager for HP, Paul Randall said: "The Indigo press 3050 can bring valuable new customers to a business, as Computershare is clearly demonstrating.
Capturing work in-house creates enormous opportunities for increased profitability and can enable a business to expand its vision and aggressively seek new business in areas never before possible.".
