Large Format Printers For Durable Graphics
HP has announced new HP Designjet large-format digital printers for the durable graphics production printing market.
HP has announced new HP Designjet large-format digital printers for the durable graphics production printing market.
HP believes that the new printers will help foster the adoption of durable digital printing technology for fast and easy production of signs, banners, vehicle graphics, POP and POS, tradeshow signs and displays, window graphics, flags and decals.
The new six-colour HP Designjet models are claimed to make low-solvent printing safe, productive and easy and are the first products to be developed through HP's partnership with Seiko I Infotech.
With claimed print speeds of up to 20 square metres per hour, PSPs will be able to provide a faster response time to their customers, allowing them to win and fulfill more print jobs.
In addition, users will appreciate the rich and vivid colours - up to 720 dots per inch (dpi) x 720dpi on low-cost uncoated substrates and prints that will resist fading for at least three years even without lamination.
The new series of low-solvent based printers, along with accessories, consumables and compatible substrates will be distributed by resellers covering most of the countries in EMEA.
HP said that it implemented a rigorous qualification process to identify and certify only a few resellers per country to ensure the new products are installed, maintained and supported by trained and skilled resellers.
Propaganda Prints, a PSP based in Barcelona (Spain), has already tested the new HP Designjet 9000s with excellent results and will be using the printer to grow its business, said HP.
Arnau Sallent, general manager of Propaganda Prints, said: "HP's new low solvent solution adds outdoor graphics applications to our business, greatly reducing our production costs.
Only HP could give us the confidence and peace of mind to safely and successfully expand into this field." The HP Designjet 8000s and 9000s series are claimed to be designed to accelerate the industry-wide transformation from analogue to digital in the large-format graphics marketplace.
The machines are said by HP to be meeting the growing demands for durable printing technology that can handle complex graphical content, yet operate in a highly competitive pricing market.
According to HP, as the lowest-priced printer in its production speed class, the Designjet 8000s series sets a new price and performance point for the industry.
Producing a variety of signs and banners, users can print up to 10 square metres of vivid, long-lasting colour output per hour.
T he Designjet 8000s is a 64-inch (1,626mm) wide system, which includes an in-the-box RIP 2, HP support, and other accessories that are said to simplify the implementation process.
Key advantages of the HP Designjet 8000s Printer series.
They include six 500ml HP low-solvent ink cartridges and heavy-duty Piezo printheads with a total of 1,524 nozzles, as well as claimed low ink consumption and a low cost of operation with Piezo technology.
Unattended printing using the optional heavy duty take-up reel system, which rolls up printouts automatically.
The HP Smart printing technology, an interactive system which optimises print quality and reliability and monitors ink levels, making HP's printing supplies easy to use and manage, said the company.
There is an optional high-speed dryer for prints that are ready for immediate finishing and the optional HP air purifier system, which is claimed to outperform other systems in its ability to reduce workplace volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), whilst ensuring clean and safe day-to-day printer operation.
The Designjet 9000s printer series, PSPs can reduce response times and increase print capacity, said HP.
The printers are claimed to operate at speeds of up to 20 square metres per hour and to provide low running costs to create a competitive advantage when competing with screen printers.
The machines are said to boost productivity through their six heavy duty Piezo printheads with a total of 3,072 nozzles and a capacity of 1000ml per head , whilst providing unattended printing, similar to Designjet 8000s.
They are said to allow 'on the fly' replacement of ink cartridges for printing without interruption and there are new colourants in HP's low-solvent inks.
HP Smart printing technology is also featured, which is an interactive system which optimises print quality and reliability and monitors ink levels, said the company.
