Stationery Office Gears-Up Short-Run Colour Work
The Stationery Office (TSO) in the UK has installed a seven-colour HP Indigo press 5000 at its division dedicated to producing governmental and parliamentary work in London.
Occasions also produces personalised magazines as individual wedding memorabilia, integrating photographs, hand-written notes from guests and memories of the day, which run from 50 to 500 copies.
"One significant benefit of the HP Indigo press 5000 for Occasions magazine is the ability to replicate the effect of UV spot varnish with HP digital matte ink.
The demand for spot colour is gradually increasing and the seven-colour capability of the HP Indigo press 5000 delivers additional benefits to all existing and new customers", said Jo O'Neill, marketing director at Concept Digital.
The advantages inherent in variable data printing enable Concept Digital to create personalised nametags and invitations for its clients, as it has already done for Barclay's Bank, Bayer Diagnostics and NFU mutual.
Other clients, including design agencies and local pharmaceutical companies, whose demands are for shorter, more frequent runs, can also have their brochures designed and produced cost-effectively, added HP.
"The Indigo press 5000 is a highly sophisticated digital press, which uses the most advanced technology to produce tailored, versatile, high quality and cost effective print runs.
Capability, practicality, quality and return on investment are the key reasons for choosing and remaining with HP," said Jo O'Neill.
Since acquiring its first digital press, an Indigo press 1000 three years ago, Concept Digital has developed expertise in digital printing.
Part of that has involved testing a variety of substrates, allowing the end user to benefit from the right choice of substrate for any given product.
The maximum substrate versatility offered by the Indigo press 5000 enables Concept Digital to meet the needs of its customers, however specific they may be, added the company.
When it was first established, Concept Digital said it was the first company in the area to offer a bureau service and has since educated its customers to the benefits of digital print.
Today, the company also provides design services and in-house finishing and works closely with several litho printers offering a digital service to their clients.
Concept Digital is now planning to develop its e-commerce activities with products such as on-line photo albums, books and tailored event coverage.
