It installed an HP Scitex TJ8300 to meet the demand for speed, yet without compromising on the high standards in quality, to which the Swiss market is accustomed.
Karl Kaiser, chief executive officer of Christinger Partner, said: "The HP Scitex TJ8300 allows us to guarantee a near offset-like quality of print to our customers and on runs of 300-400 it has even allowed us to compete effectively with litho on price." Christinger Partner's reputation for high quality work has secured many well-known customers, as well as leading them to produce some record-breaking print, said the company.
Procter and Gamble asked Christinger Partner to print a 4069 square metre poster.
Utilising the capabilities of the HP Scitex XL1500, the company printed the poster on mesh in just 120 hours, most likely breaking the record for the world's largest free hanging poster.
Weighing 1.8 tonnes, it was airlifted on to the slopes at Kleine Scheidegg in the Bernese Alps by helicopter.
More recently the company printed the banners for the Cannes film festival, including the one gracing the red-carpeted entrance to Le Palais des Festivals.
It used its HP Scitex XL1500 to produce three super-wide banners, all over 25m x 11m and three smaller banners of 6m x 3m each.
They were all printed on a flame retardant mesh and took only 25 hours to print, added the company.
Dov Ofer, vice president and general manager of HP Scitex, said: "It was only natural for us to assign such a high profile job to one of our most trusted European customers.
The banners are really eye-catching and we're very pleased with the outcome." Karl Kaiser added: "We were proud to be chosen to print banners for such a prestigious event.
We knew that we could rely on the HP Scitex XL1500 to meet the deadline without compromising on the superb print quality we have come to expect.".
