Inkjet Printers' Rapid Colour-Accurate Production
The new HP Designjet Z6100 printer series for print service providers and technical printing markets is said to provide new levels of productivity, versatility and dependability for digital printing.
With the Designjet Z6100 printers users are said to have a rapid, reliable, colour-accurate system that enables them to print more applications and grow their businesses.
The printers, with HP Vivera pigment inks, are claimed to be suitable for indoor and short term outdoor large-format applications, such as photographic enlargements, photo quality POP display and backlits, fine art prints, drawings, maps and renders, providing colour accurate and prints at maximum print speeds, together with HP's set of colour management technologies.
HP added that the Designjet Z6100 features the company's Dreamcolor technology, a certified system of colour technologies, such as an embedded spectrophotometer and sciences that are claimed to make it easy to produce accurate, predictable and consistent colour across a series of digital colour devices.
The company also claimed that the printer is the most productive large-format printer in its class.
The series enables digital print shops and sign makers to increase print capacity, reduce turn-around times and offer new, high-quality printing applications to customers and clients, whilst delivering predictable, consistent colour.
Offering a combination of speed, image quality and colour consistency for printing firms, the Designjet Z6100 series is suitable for all indoor large-format printing applications, from photos and fine art prints to maps and renders, according to HP.
Available in 1,067mm, and 1,524mm models, the printers' response times handles large production volumes, producing output at over 100 square metres per hour, claimed HP.
In addition, new HP Double Swath Technology is said to create a wider print swath - up to 46mm and the first Optical Media Advance Sensor, which improves paper advancement control, so the printer can print at higher speeds and across environmental conditions.
Santi Morera, vice president and general manager of HP EMEA graphic arts, said: "HP is continuously looking for ways to reinvigorate the printing market and excite customers with new printing possibilities.
The Designjet Z6100 series is not only the PSP, GIS and AEC market's new go-to system for fast and high quality large-format printing needs but also another step in delivering on our promise to enable customers to do more with a broad portfolio of intuitive, scalable systems." The Art Group, an art publisher, needs a fleet of fast, colour-accurate large-format printers for its on-demand printing business, said HP.
Peter Moger, a director at The Art Group, commented: "Our world-renowned museum clients demand exceptional image quality and colour.
In our business, we must replicate outstanding museum-quality output from any of our printers at any location around the world.
The Designjet Z6100 series enables us to get consistent results with remarkable speed regardless of location, time and environments." HP explained that in addition, the Designjet Z6100 features eight HP Vivera pigment inks providing water-resistant, fade-resistant prints.
Prints produced on a range of HP media resist fading for over one year un-laminated and over three years laminated when displayed in or near a window.
and the company claimed that in interior display conditions away from direct sunlight, prints resist fading for 200 years.
Providing media flexibility, including two new original HP media and jumbo rolls, the company has also added two new substrates to the portfolio of 50 materials for the Designjet Z6100.
HP's Premium Vivid Colour Backlit Film is a new micro-porous coated media designed for backlit applications and self-adhesive Gloss Polypropylene is a film for creating photo-realistic images for store displays, banners and posters.
Additionally, the Designjet Z6100's longer roll support (up to 175 metres) and 775ml HP ink cartridges provide an economical, time-saving approach to long print runs, added the company.
New jumbo rolls for HP's Universal Inkjet Bond Paper and Universal Instant-Dry gloss and semi-gloss photo papers have also been introduced.
They are said to allow for overnight unattended printing with the Designjet Z6100 series and Vivera pigment inks.
