HP has announced two new strategic alliances with long-term partners, EskoArtwork and AB Graphic International

EskoArtwork has a long history of developing and integrating prepress and colour management solutions into HP Indigo presses The new agreement extends that cooperation to an OEM relationship

AB Graphic International becomes HP's worldwide sole Strategic Partner and preferred solution provider in respect of label converting.

AB Graphic equipment, including the Digicon and Digicoater, are HP's preferred end-to-end solutions for this market.

"These strategic partnerships are important to HP and its customers because it establishes strong, worldwide links with two leading suppliers who have helped us build truly end-to-end solutions for our customers", said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo Division, HP.

"EskoArtwork and AB Graphic, innovators in their own rights, have excellent understandings of our technology and our markets as well as established relationships with our team and our customers".

Shown for the first time at Labelexpo is EskoArtwork's new Digital Front-end VDP option for the HP Indigo press ws4500.

The tool works in Adobe Illustrator environments and is focused on industrial VDP needs such as barcodes, sequential numbering and graphical codes.

HP also announced a new Pantone license for the seven-colour Pantone Simulation, utilising CMYK plus Orange, Violet and Green, known as 'HP IndiChrome Plus'.

This is the broadest digital on-press colour gamut system for the production of labels and packaging.

The development of HP IndiChrome Plus was supported by EskoArtwork and will be available to all HP Indigo press ws4XXX users using the new version of EskoArtwork Digital Front-end.

The added benefits of the broader colour space of CMYK+OVG include enhanced print quality, closer matching to Pantone Colours, a broader application range and the ability to transfer more colour jobs from conventional printing to digital production.

Accompanying the announcement is the availability of a new version of the Pantone and HP Indigo Colour Toolbox.

The toolkit contains swatch books that compare four and seven colour simulations of Pantone Colours on HP Indigo presses as well as the original Pantone Colour bridge swatchbook.

In addition HP announced its support for the recently announced Pantone Goe system.

HP has also recently announced the HP Product Tracking and Authentication (PTandA) Label and Packaging Solution to address the growing global challenges of counterfeiting, product diversion, and regulatory compliance.

HP PT and A provide traceability, secure product tracking, mass serialisation through smart labels and packaging as well as authentication procedures that can be easily implemented through the supply chain all the way to pharmaceutical retailer level.

Products offered by HP's Global Enterprise Business include hardware, software and security solutions for international brand owners using a range of smart label technologies.

These solutions, using HP Indigo press ws4500s, include a highly specialised inspection system to verify the quality and readability of serialised 1-D and 2-D barcodes as well as human-readable coding, delivering fully integrated solutions for brand protection.

HP Indigo has expanded its offering to label customers in Europe with an enhanced Service portfolio so that customers may enjoy a wider variety of tailored packages, mission-critical and pro-active solutions to meet the needs of their businesses, and as a result will maximise press uptime.

The new services include 18 x 6 After-hours Remote Support by telephone, On-site Stand-by Support and Remote, Internet-based, HP Instant Support.

In addition, HP has introduced a third level of training to its press operator qualification programme.
