HP Printers At Centre Of Educational
Printing
HP is at the centre of creating a new print-on-demand resource that allows schools to bring many of their previously outsourced printing requirements in-house.
Working in collaboration with The Landscape Group, HP has collaborated to develop Eduprint, which is claimed to provide one of the best working environments and range of tools to help UK students develop and apply their creative and artistic business skills, whilst enabling schools to reduce their external printing costs The system combines the latest HP Z Series printers from the large format Designjet range with an automated software template, developed by The Landscape Group, which enables the creation of personalised content, said HP

HP's Entry Level and Indigo Presses Emerge
Hewlett-Packard has announced two entry-level digital printers and two new Indigo presses.
Eduprint is said to provide schools, colleges and study centres with the ability to produce printing on demand with three key benefits.
Educational centres will be able to save on printing costs and eliminate wastage by bringing small print jobs in-house, such as school photographs, calendars and newsletters, when compared to outsourcing print work to local print firms.
In addition, a cost estimator enables students to gauge an approximate cost before any item is printed and it allows the school to set up secure print job approvers so continued cost efficiencies can be achieved.

HP's Gallery Deal Pioneers Art Posters On Demand
HP's partnership with the UK's National Gallery in London and its print on demand (POD) technology has enabled HP to reach the shortlist for the 27th national Arts and Business awards just announced.
HP said that Eduprint brings a selection of enterprise-based learning opportunities to a wide range of students, which is of particular benefit given the UK government's increasing focus on encouraging young enterprise in school environments from ages eight to 18 years-old.
For example, students using the Eduprint system are able to design and print personalised content, such as posters, photographic montages of school trips, personalised calendars, booklets and certificates, up to 42" wide.
Such items could also fund a continuing sustainable business, encouraging the students to develop valuable entrepreneurial and creative skills, added the company.
According to the company, Eduprint also improves motivation and the development of creative skills amongst students through the ability to personalise print content.
Eduprint is already said to have already been successfully used in educational environments and in schools for children with special needs where the digital colour quality and variety of media textures has been a driver for learning.
Nancy Janes, business manager for graphic arts at HP's Imaging and Printing Group in the UK, explained: "Until recently, harnessing the power of digital images often required a sizeable budget, the services of outside professionals and significant production time.
Now, digital technology has enabled us to bring large format printing to a new market, putting those types of short-run materials within reach of even modest budgets and offering valuable life experiences to students." Nat Hart, the managing director of The Landscape Group, added: "Working with HP enables us to offer pupils the latest technology to fuel their creativity and give them a head start in understanding real-life marketing.
This is the first time technology has been used to encourage entrepreneurship in young people in this way and we would encourage all schools and study centres to consider this new approach to teaching.".
