Self-Adhesive Vinyl Producer Wins Award For Growth

Hexis SA, manufacturer self-adhesive vinyl, received the Prix de l'Ambition jointly awarded by Banque Palatine, La Tribune and HEC Group, recognising the continued growth of Hexis.

La Tribune, one of the leading financial newspapers in France, singled out Hexis amongst numerous medium sized businesses competing for the prize, which rewards Hexis, with two production sites in the south of France, for a sustained annual growth rate of over 35 per cent over the past seven years.

The company manufactures a range of graphic vinyl and digital printing media used for sign making and vehicle markings.

Hexis said it also supports efforts aimed at sustainable development and long-term protection of the environment.

In 2006 the company invested EUR400,000 in a high temperature incinerator to completely eliminate solvent emissions from the production process.

They are burnt and only water and small quantities of carbon dioxide are released in the atmosphere, added the company.

Hexis exports over 40 per cent of its sales to over 40 countries, whilst it achieved sales of EUR29 million in 2006.

At its main site Hexis has a research and development laboratory and amonsgt its developments was a cast vinyl film and a structured adhesive named Hex'Press that is claimed to allow elimination of air bubbles during the application of self-adhesive media.

Hexis, founded in 1989 by its current president, Michel Mateu, is established in Frontignan, near Montpellier.

It has a subsidiary in California (USA) with affiliated companies in Italy, The Netherlands and the UK.

The group has 135 employees.
