With the ability to stick hard to substrates such as rubbish bins, or other non-polar plastics the new high tack vinyl film from Hexis comes in two new inkjet printable products.

The VCR3000WG1 is a 100um gloss white intermediate PVC with a high tack clear permanent solvent-based adhesive on a 145gsm PE-coated liner It is said to have an outdoor durability of up to four years

And the VCR200WG1 is a 70um gloss white, claimed high performance PVC with a high tack clear permanent solvent-based adhesive, also on a 145gsm PE-coated liner.

It is claimed to have an outdoor durability of up to eight years.

The two products are available in rolls of 1,370mm, or 1,600mm wide by 45 metres, 100m or 200m long and they are said to be suitable for solvent and eco-solvent inkjet printers.

Hexis said its laboratory has created a media with a heavier coat weight of adhesive to allow the product to be more aggressive on hard to adhere surfaces (low energy surfaces), such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).

The result is that such items as rubbish bins, canoes and motorcycle fairings can all now have graphics put on to them.

Data sheets and samples are available directly from Hexis, or from local distributors, added the company.
