HH's 5-Year Carphone Print Management Deal
The Carphone Warehouse and HH Print Management have agreed a new five-year, GBP15 million per annum, agreement for marketing print services to the pan-European retail chain.
Previously, Powerhouse had a fragmented approach to print buying, which caused inconsistencies in both the quality and cost of jobs across departments and made the process highly labour intensive.
In a bid to centralise and regain control over the process, Powerhouse chose to outsource print procurement to HH Associates, who it had previously worked with on a number of projects including flyer campaigns.
HH Associates will be involved in the whole print process from concept to delivery, offering advice on all aspects of the project, not just print production.

Through using HH Associates web-based print management system, Powerhouse will be able to track the progress of print jobs as well as check costs and invoices, for more informed decision-making and control believes HH.
The fast-paced nature of the retail sector demands constantly changing promotions and seasonal campaigns with tight deadlines, requiring well-planned print management to ensure deadlines are met and the highest quality of print jobs achieved.
Ranging from balloons, to carrier bags and leaflets, printed items must be ready for the hectic Christmas and January sale periods and the timing to be in-line with concurrent press and radio advertising campaigns.
As part of the contract, HH Associates has also placed an account team on-site at Powerhouse to manage the entire process which will include, working with the design team on the concept of campaigns, creating a comprehensive production plan, making immediate decisions and offering advice to the marketing team on materials, costs and products.
"Through working with HH Associates we will be able to greatly enhance the turnaround time of print jobs, from one week to as little as 48-hours.
Having an experienced team on-site, I am confident that projects will be run with minimal input from myself, speeding up the process and reducing my teams work load, as we no longer have to go through the tender process ourselves," commented Helen Vinken, head of marketing communications at Powerhouse.
Commenting on the deal Robert MacMillan, managing director at HH Associates stated: "Powerhouse is a well-known brand name and effective marketing is essential to its success.
Through the use of our online system and more focused on-site support, we have been able to give Powerhouse the confidence to outsource activities to us and take a more hands off approach while still retaining control over the process.".
