A HH Print Management product story

HH Print Management has been awarded Forest Stewardship Council and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes certification.

As part of HH Print Management's review of its commitment to the environment, the company has been awarded both FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) certification.

Tony Lawrence, senior paper buyer, explained: "At HH we have been looking at our carbon footprint and ways of reducing and managing the impact we have on the environment.

We also wanted to be able to offer our clients a truly 'green' option that would meet all of their needs." HH said that because it controls the purchasing of paper, the printing and distribution of the final printed job the company's stewardship of any environmental standards is an advantage to clients.

The sheer number of formats and different grades of paper HH's clients use everyday makes achieving and having the systems to maintain those standards a complex undertaking, it added.

One of the key challenges is chain of custody (COC) and maintaining the traceability of the paper pulp so that it is properly accredited.

HH felt the best way to achieve that and be able to deliver a consistently high quality of product to its clients was to be awarded certification form both bodies.

Lawrence added: "Our clients can now use the FSC and PEFC accreditation on all their printed items through HH.

By accepting our responsibility to the environment we are encouraging our clients to recognise theirs.".
