Heidelberg yesterday has welcomed 4,000 participants and marked the 1,000th Prinect experience tour for its Prinect centre at Drupa.

Heidelberg yesterday has welcomed 4,000 participants and marked the 1,000th Prinect experience tour in its Prinect centre at Drupa.

About 4,000 people have already visited the tour to find out about end-to-end digital networking of all processes within a printshop.

With a tour beginning every 15 minutes, it follows a virtual, but practical print job through the production process from job acceptance to pre-press, press, postpress and billing.

It shows how print jobs can be produced efficiently and cost-effectively by the individual Prinect components.

Participants can decide between different print jobs depending on their business model or key area of application.

"The unexpectedly high interest in our Prinect experience tours shows that an ever increasing number of printshops and media service providers are keen to learn about networking and standardisation using the new JDF industry standard.

It is becoming more and more clear that using a fully integrated workflow management system reduces costs and boosts efficiency," said Jorg Bauer, vice president of product management for Prinect at Heidelberg.

Those interested in the tour can register at the Prinect centre at Heidelberg's stand in Hall 2.
