The new press, which is supplied with Heidelberg's Cutstar reel to sheet system, replaces a six-colour and a five-colour press.
By investing in the technology the company hopes to reduce its labour and paper costs and to increase productivity by 20%.
That will give customers more flexibility in securing printing slots and safeguard profit margins in a fiercely competitive market it said.

Jim Lakin said: "We have enjoyed great success with the first 12-colour which we have run for two and a half years.
The Cutstar takes us on one further stage and will give us greater flexibility as well as more press capacity.
We are already very competitive in the market and serve many blue chip customers, including major car manufacturers and financial institutions, from the UK and Europe.
Twelve-colour technology has helped us win work back from the Continent." With the press comes Taylor Bloxham's third Image control spectrophotometer.
Taylor Bloxham was an early adopter of Heidelberg's print colour management consultancy services and there has been very real two way learning between the companies.
"We see ourselves at the forefront of colour management and many of our jobs involve complex repro.
We expect 90% of throughput on the new press to involve all 12 units and 80% of that will be using six colours each side rather than five plus seal," said Lakin.
"We looked widely before deciding to buy from Heidelberg but the technology is tried and tested and has worked extremely well for us.
There is no discernible difference between the two sides of a sheet because the jacket technology is proven," he added.
The company has handled on the first press runs from 15,000 to three million sheets but its average is around 50,000.
It does not see itself as competing with web offset but rather in creating high quality sheetfed production that is viable across a range of runs and products.
It handles a broad mix of general commercial and niche contracts.
About 10% of its £18.8m turnover comes from its sister company Fastant.
With 170 staff covering 24 hour-a-day and six-day-a-week production, Taylor Bloxham believes it is at the top level in the independent sheetfed league table.
