Heidelberg is offering what it described as a look back to the future at its UK autumn open houses.

Heidelberg is offering what it described as a look back to the future at its UK autumn open houses.

The company said it is offering chances to review the changes shown at Drupa 2004 where two-thirds of its equipment was brand new, or extensively changed.

Printers will be able to assess from these events how the technological changes will affect them and the industry in future.

The three events will be at Heidelberg Tamworth (October 5-7), Brentford (October 12-14) and Leeds (October 19-21) with opening times set from 10am to 5pm each day.

There will also be a breakfast option at Tamworth, Brentford and Leeds on Wednesdays (from 8am to 10am).

Prinect connectivity will be a major feature at each of the sites and there will be evidence of what Heidelberg believes is its continuing commitment to open JDF connectivity to Optimus 2020 MIS, as well as the easy connection between all its own products to maximise speed, efficiency and profitability.

At all three open houses visitors will see the new perfecting version of the Speedmaster CD 74, the new Suprasetter Heidelberg-developed and manufactured thermal CTP system and the new TH buckle and KH combination folder series.

Visitors to Tamworth will also see a straight CD102-6LX, SM52-4P and QM46-2 as well as Prosetter, Topsetter and Polysetter CTP systems.

The finishing sector also features new Polar X and XT models, the ST400 saddle-stitcher and new Eurobind perfect binder.

The impact of Imagecontrol in the Prinect workflow will also be explained.

The SM102-10P is at Brentford along with: the CD 74 perfector; a range of small offset including Printmaster PM52 and Speedmaster SM52 two-colour machines; Prosetter, Topsetter and Suprasetter CTP options.

Even the Nexpress 2100 and Digimaster 9110 will be there, although Kodak now sells them.

Leeds visitors will also see the perfecting CD74, the new Printmaster PM52-5P, which offers scalable automation, the full range of CTP options, new Polar and Stahlfolder technology and the brand new ST350, which is JDF-compatible.

Jim Todd, Heidelberg sales director, said: "Higher productivity, improved workflow and efficiency, reduced manning, added value, consistent quality - whatever you are looking for there is something new for visitors to the autumn open houses.".
