Zeta Colour has adopted CTP, replacing a conventional Scitex set up with a Topsetter 74 with single cassette loader and Printready workflow supplied by Heidelberg.

The demand for plates to feed a five-colour and four-colour B2 press is said to have risen strongly since the system was installed and is now close to 1,000 plates a month.

Director Tony Wilkinson said: "We needed to make the move to CTP to keep plate production up to speed and now we can output plates much faster and in higher volumes.

The Printready workflow is top notch, brilliant compared to before." Colin Thrussell, IT and prepress manager at the Seaford company, was part of the review team that selected the Topsetter, which has been funded through a consumables deal offered by Close Asset Finance.

"We were putting feelers out when a Heidelberg rep called on us and he took us to Brentford to see a demonstration, which impressed us.

We looked at other systems but liked the Topsetter and we are pleased with our choice.

We have never bought from Heidelberg before," he said.
