The program, which was developed in collaboration with printing experts from the leading German universities, the University of Wuppertal, Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences and Ferris State University, Michigan, features a range of themes.
They include insights into growth opportunities, possibilities for boosting profitability, background information on using management information systems (MIS), an introduction to financial analysis techniques for return on investment (ROI) planning and liquidity management.
"The Winter University provides managers in the print media industry with an exceptional opportunity to extend their expertise on an international level, to exchange experiences with others and to establish new valuable contacts," said Bernd Schopp, the head of the print media academy at Heidelberg.
The speakers at the winter university 2005 will provide updates on the advantages that can be gained from integrated workflow management systems in print media production.
They will also present details of how the potential of file formats such as PDF and JDF and optimised print colour management can be fully exploited.
New materials will be showcased that represent a basis for developing innovative products enabling sustained differentiation from the competition.
Following the Winter University, the Print Media Academy's Summer University will take place for the fourth time in Heidelberg (Germany) in July 2005.
The Summer University traditionally focuses more on business management topics.
