Hill and Hay in Glasgow will this month take delivery of its first equipment from Heidelberg.

Hill and Hay in Glasgow will this month take delivery of its first equipment from Heidelberg.

It has ordered a Stahlfolder KH66 to replace an older Shoei Star.

David Hill, joint-managing director at Hill and Hay said: "We have gone with Heidelberg because it offered best value for money.

Reliability and robustness were prerequisites when we looked at equipment, mainly machines familiar to us.

To date we have run Bonellis and Shoeis.

We have chosen a combination folder again this time for the versatility it gives us; we run both buckle and combination machines." Hill and Hay is a B2 printer serving the central Scottish belt primarily, supplying general commercial work from promotional literature and business literature through to business stationery.

It offers a full in-house finishing service.

Like others, Hill and Hay is finding no shortfall in the volumes of business but that pricing is very competitive.

Initially the new folder will run a day shift but Mr Hill is keeping an open mind about how business might evolve in the next year.
