Heidelberg Develops Packaging Security Features
Saueressig Security International and Heidelberg have signed an agreement to jointly develop processes to produce security features and surface finishings in a single process for packaging.
The first product introduced in the company's new series of high-end offset presses known as the 'Maximum Performance Class', the Speedmaster XL 105 is claimed to have a speed of up to 18,000 sheets per hour (sph).
The press is the newest member of Speedmaster family of automated presses and produces the highest quality product at the highest speeds, on the widest variety of stocks, claimed the company.
Outside the XL 105 Theatre, the Heidelberg stand will be divided in to five areas to showcase new advances in each of the company's major printing categories.
Identifiable by colour-coded signs, those areas will include Quick Print Solutions, Commercial Print Solutions, Industrial Print Solutions, Packaging Solutions and the Prinect Experience.
Each centre will house related Heidelberg equipment and will include an application centre, where visitors can meet face-to-face with Heidelberg specialists to learn more about new printing and technology.
Each area will also include 'expert spots', or special presentation areas designed to highlight key products.
The Heidelberg Prinect Experience will include customised demonstrations of the company's Prinect portfolio of workflow management systems to show how they are said to integrate and optimise work processes - from colour management to production and from pre-press to finishing.
The Prinect Experience at Print '05 will include up to 10 workstations programmed to demonstrate how Prinect connects the entire workflow of a print shop, said the company.
