The main topics will include key areas of business management, such as strategy development and implementation, process and personnel management, sales and company development.
Bernd Schopp, head of the Print Media Academy, said: "Specialist knowledge is no longer sufficient in itself to run a company profitably.
It is critical to have the right strategies and the latest management know-how.
At the Summer University, participants will be equipped with the tools needed to meet market and competitive challenges." According to Heidelberg, a team of international experts will transfer practical knowledge at the Summer University 2006.
The aim is that all the participants will be able to implement what they have learned immediately in their own company.
Case studies will be used to analyse current management challenges in the group and to formulate solutions.
The practical examples will not be restricted solely to the print media industry, but will also cover other industries.
The participants own problems or future plans can also be discussed and the results documented in a personal plan of action.
By exchanging ideas and information with colleagues from different countries, participants can recognise different trends and use them as a basis for devising strategies in their own markets, believes Heidelberg.
The Summer University 2006 will be led by Dr Thomas Schumacher, a management consultant and expert in change management and didactics.
The number of participants will be restricted to 25 people.
The conference fee is Eur2,600 (plus VAT).
The course will be held in English.
