In conjunction with Prinect Workflow, Prinect Image Control are also said to automatically identify the position and type of quality control strips and mini spots.
Heidelberg added that navigation has been made simpler through the further optimisation of ergonomic user interfaces and menus.
Further improvements to image control functions enable process-related influences on tonal values to be stabilised more effectively on the basis of information gathered from the quality control strips and the print image, added the company.
Older Prinect Image Control systems can also be updated with the new software functions if required.
Jorg Bauer, Heidelberg's vice president of Prinect product management, explained: "Fast inking-up supported by automated colour management is increasingly becoming a key competitive factor for print shops.
The new version of Prinect Image Control is key to this process and its extended functions make it pivotal for analysing quality in pre-press and press stages.".
