A Heidelberg product story

Heidelberg has delivered a TH82 buckle and a KH 78 combination folder with an additional knife unit to Coventry Bookbinders.

The machines have been equipped with touch screen controls with automated roller settings and folding catalogues.

Karl Henley, managing director of Coventry Bookbinders, said: 'We needed to overcome a bottleneck in folding.

'Currently only one of our folders can handle the 16pp sections but with the two new folders, both will handle 16 and 32pp sections, doubling the output and speeding work through to stitching and binding lines.

'We will also be able to handle the full range of folds and impositions across the two machines, giving us maximum flexibility.

'Everyone is an instant printer these days and we have had to become an instant finisher to support our customers' needs.

The automated rollers will improve make-ready times and prolong the roller life by ensuring accurate roller pressures for work.

Coventry Bookbinders has also elected to take a double gate fold unit for the buckle machine.

This gives it comprehensive folding capacity.

Coventry Bookbinders takes in sheet and web work from printers throughout the UK.

It offers cutting, folding, stitching, binding, both hot melt and PUR, drilling, shrink wrapping and ram bundling as well as hand and benchwork.
