Following an increase in turnover of 34.78 per cent that earned a second place in the CIP4 Awards, Ampersand Printing said that a Hiflex management information system played a crucial role.
The award for the Canadian offset printing company Ampersand recognised the company achieving the biggest improvement in efficiency and customer responsiveness because of process automation Ampersand integrated Hiflex's management information system (MIS) including digital planning board and shop floor data collection, along with a Kodak Prinergy workflow system and Heidelberg's Polar Compucut

The system provides plate status data for the scheduler and allows for an increase of sold productivity on the presses due to ameliorated transparency and flexibility.
There is also the automatic creation of the cutting program to reduce make-ready time.
