Ex-BASF Man To Support Hell's New Engraving System
Dr Hartmut Sandig, a familiar face to many experts in the German and European flexographic sector, will in future advise Hell Gravure Systems on the market launch of the PremiumFlexo process.
Hell will be using the newly developed XtremeEngraving process to showcase high-resolution engraving at a previously unattainable speed.
In principle, it turns the engraving machine into a laser image setter with the result that ultra-fine resolutions can now be combined with high ink application.
In contrast to complex laser-based methods, XtremeEngraving retains the advantages of electro-mechanical engraving - it is a simple, stable and inexpensive process, which results in high-quality reproducible cylinder engraving.
Hell will also be unveiling the JDF Interface 1.0 for networking production sequences and integrating offset and engraving workflows.
Visitors will be able to see how the Heidelberg Printready System is able to control engraving form manufacture via JDF parameters.
Also to be introduced at Drupa will be HelioCom X, the latest development of the successful workstation for designing cylinder layouts.
Based on the Mac OS X operating system, HelioCom X integrates all professional functions into a single high-performance Power Mac G5 workstation.
Its most important features include direct importing of Artpro data, RIPping of PostScript and PDF, creating cylinder layouts under visual control, direct proofing on large-format proofers, TIFF engraving data outputs and completely set the parameters of the HelioKlischographs by means of job tickets.
There will also be the world premiere of the HelioFlex F1200 flexographic CTP imagesetter.
The F1200 was specifically designed for imaging small and medium-format flexographic printing plates and sleeves.
The machine is simple to handle with a high imaging speed and low investment cost.
Hell believes it is not only ideal as a cost-effective gateway to digital flexographic output but also for complementing existing large-format output devices.
The Hell stand at Drupa will be 17C42.
