Gravure System Supports Mac Pro Intel
Processors
Supporting Intel processors from the latest Mac Pro series, version 8.5 of the Heliocom software for designing cylinder layouts for packaging gravure, is now available.
The key innovation from Hell Gravure Systems' Heliocom is that it it supports Intel processors using native program code The company also claimed that the software's performance has been increased by up to 100 per cent over conventional PowerPC processors in the G5 series
Heliocom is claimed to offer professional functions integrated in a Mac Pro workstation, including direct importing of Artpro data, RIPping of PostScript and PDF, creation of cylinder layouts under visual control, direct proofing on large-format proofers, TIFF engraving data outputs and complete job parameterisation of Helioklischograph systems by means of job tickets.
Hell Gravure said that the concept has proven itself in over 500 Heliocom workstations already installed worldwide.
