UK FSC Printers' Great Demand For
Posters
Out of 120 FSC certified printers in the UK, 61 of them have helped to overwhelm Howard Smith Paper (HSP) with demand for its Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) personalised posters.
That means that over half of the UK's FSC accredited printers will have a poster hanging in their offices and in their customer's offices The posters provide information, not only for Howard Smith Paper's print customers, but also designers, agencies and print or end users, about the issues surrounding FSC accreditation and what it means for the paper industry and the environment

The development of the posters follows the creation by Howard Smith Paper Group of its FSC microsite, which provides information for the printing community, whether designers, printers or end users, on issues such as Chain of Custody, Regency FSC paper and other environmental products stocked by Howard Smith Paper.
Howard Smith Paper Group marketing and purchasing director, Dave Cooling, said: "We have been overwhelmed with the response from the print community for our posters, which is a great endorsement, not only on the information that we are issuing, but more importantly that our microsite is being seen as a worthy source of information." Howard Smith Paper's Regency FSC range is claimed to have been the first volume coated product to achieve FSC certification in the UK in June this year.
Howard Smith Paper attained FSC Chain of Custody accreditation in October 2006.
Earlier this month it also attained Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) accreditation, adding to its environmental credentials, enabling it to offer products that are certified under one or both of the certification systems.
The company is also ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited.
