Howard Smith Paper is supporting rock singing star Annie Lennox's 'Sing' project, to help combat the fight against HIV-AIDS, by supplying the paper for the project's launch brochure.

Lennox, the former Eurythmics singer, invited 23 of the world's female artists, including Madonna and Celine Dion, to record with her on a song she had written to help to draw attention to the HIV-AIDS pandemic, especially in South Africa, where women and children are most seriously affected Sales proceeds from the song, entitled 'Sing', wil be donated to the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC)

Coordinated with the release of the CD single 2,500 copies of a 32-page launch brochure containing a special copy of the single were produced to highlight the story of children in South Africa that have been orphaned by HIV-AIDS.

Howard Smith Paper supplied the paper for the production of the brochure, which used the company's Consort Silk 170gsm, Think White 400gsm and Consort Clear Snow White 100gsm substrates in its production.

The brochure was printed by Bath (UK) company Emtone Print and designed by Corsham (UK) firm The English Group.

The Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) was launched by Nelson Mandela in Cape Town (South Africa) in 1998 to campaign for access to treatment for people with HIV-AIDS and for the reduction of HIV infections.

TAC campaigns are said to have led to the implementation of countrywide mother-to-child transmission prevention and anti-retroviral treatment programmes, as well as training programmes on the science of HIV treatment and prevention.

Howard Smith Paper Group's marketing manager, Martin Webster, said: "We were more than happy to lend our support to such a worthwhile campaign.

The work that Annie Lennox has done to highlight the pandemic in South Africa is tremendous and we were delighted to provide our services.".
