Paper Firm's Employees Win Student
Awards
Ten members of staff from the Howard Smith Paper Group won awards at the National Association of Paper Merchant's (NAPM) Introductory Certificate programme awards.
The top award of student of the year went to Helen Newberry of Howard Smith Paper Group's Creative Papers Division Four of the top 10 students were Howard Smith Paper Group employees

They included Sophie Beetham from the company's Publishing Division, Diane Crouch from the Web Division, Dasha Tolkacheva from the marketing department and Helen Newberry of the firm's creative services.
Helen Newberry and the other Howard Smith employees successfully completed the NAPM Introductory Certificate Programme, which contains five modules that focus on the industry.
Those areas include paper, forestry and the environment; the global business of print; basic finance and marketing and customers and suppliers.
It is run over a five-month period in conjunction with Paper Matters.
Howard Smith Paper Group managing director, Malcolm Lane-Ley, commented: "We were delighted that member of our staff have been recognised and rewarded for being such high achievers.
To have four female members of staff in the top 10 winners also signifies the work being done to dispel the myth that the paper industry is purely male dominated.
Their success is indicative of the hard work that they have all put in and also emphasises our belief in the excellence that training can provide.".
