Harperscientific, the printing and coating supplies division of global anilox supplier Harper Corporation of America, has announced the introduction of the Digi-Tek sponge.

The Digi-Tek sponge is a product that is suitable for cleaning digital plates, said the company.

Jim Harper, Harperscientific's vice president, said: "Because the dot heads on digital plates are wider than the stems, improper cleaning can cause plate damage.

Digi-Tek eliminates the potential of the mesh snagging the dot heads and damaging the plate image.

Plate room personnel tell us that the Digi-Tek sponge solves that problem and is easy to work with." Available exclusively through Harperscientific, the company claimed that the Digi-Tek sponge can be used with all plate cleaning solutions, including ink solvents.

The sponges are sold individually or in boxes of 10 or 48.
