Harperscientific has made its Multi-Purpose Master Mix ink cleaner available in boxes of convenient packets.

Harperscientific, the printing and coating supplies division of anilox roll supplier Harper Corporation of America, has made its Multi-Purpose Master Mix ink cleaner available in boxes of convenient packets.

Multi-Purpose Master Mix is a non-hazardous cleaner for water-based inks.

When mixed with water, the cleaner can be pumped through the press system to prevent ink clogging and remove dangerous debris that can damage the anilox roll, said Harper.

The company said that Multi-Purpose Master Mix can also be used throughout the press room for cleaning anilox rolls, rubber rolls, printing plates, press frames, ink pumps and pans, doctor blade chambers, ink hoses and concrete floors.

One four-ounce packet makes five gallons of cleaner, it is claimed.

Like all Harperscientific products, Multi-Purpose Master Mix includes a 30-day money-back guarantee, added the company.

Multi-Purpose Master Mix is available in boxes of 11 packets, 22 packets or 44 packets, as well as in five gallon pails and 55 gallon drums.

For a limited time, customers that order Multi-Purpose Master Mix at will receive a 10 per cent discount, whilst also receiving a 10 per cent discount on the purchase of any stainless, brass, nylon or horsehair brushes.

Jim Harper, vice president of Harperscientific, said: "We try to help our customers cut downtime wherever we can, so we're constantly looking for ways to streamline processes.

Packaging Multi-Purpose Master Mix in four-ounce packets means that press operators don't lose precious minutes each time they need to drag a pail back and forth and measure out cleaner.

They can simply open the pre-measured packet and pour it in the water press-side." And Tony Donato, process and product development engineer at Harper Corporation, added: "Everything that can cut out a few minutes of downtime here and there makes a big difference over time.

We look for those incremental ways to increase uptime.".
