Oce's Arizona 250 GT flatbed UV printer has been certified by Humaneyes for producing lenticular and Lensfree effects prints, using Humaneyes Technologies' Printpro 2.0 lenticular software.

Humaneyes Technologies said that the certification marks the first step in the cooperation between the two companies to promote the lenticular opportunity among Oce's flatbed customers Lensfree, which is now incorporated in to Printpro 2.0 software for digital flatbed UV wide format printing, is claimed to be enabling 3D effects and 2D animation to be printed directly on glass or acrylic (plexiglas), helping remove a traditional lenticular printing barrier - the high cost of production caused by the high cost of buying lenticular lenses

The Oce Arizona 250 GT is a UV curable flatbed inkjet machine that is said to provide near-photographic image quality on rigid or flexible media using Oce's Variadot imaging.

Variadot uses a variable ink drop size from 6 picoliters to 42 picoliters producing what Oce said are sharp, crisp type and line work, smooth skin tones and solid colours.

Humaneyes Printro 2.0 is a lenticular and 3D technology that allows printers to open, modify and print Creative3D end files, which are created by designers, said the company.

Using Printpro 2.0, printers can make final adjustments to effects and colours using the product's production tools suite.

Printpro 2.0 maximises printers' productivity and profitability by making lenticular production predictable and efficient, added Humayeyes.

Duby Hodd, chief executive officer of Humaneyes Technologies, said: "The Oce Arizona 250 GT machine coupled with Printpro 2.0 software offers print providers the opportunity to fully explore the exciting capabilities of lenticular printing on multiple substrates, as well as increase their margins by expanding services.

As the Oce Arizona 250 GT is a flatbed printer with a very high print resolution and high geometric accuracy, it offers commercial printers real flexibility as they are able to print using either a thin lenticular lens or using our new Lensfree technology." And he explained: "With a growing trend towards print companies' customers looking for a one-stop-shop approach for their printing requirements, the ability to offer flatbed inkjet technology coupled with specialised printing applications creates a new and immediate revenue stream.

By adding lenticular printing to Oce's offering it will not only help improve print companies' profitability but also help position Oce as a leader in high-end specialised printing." Oce Display Graphics Systems' president and chief excecutive officer, Gido van Praag, commented: "We are pleased that Humaneyes Technologies has recognised the exceptional print quality of the Oce Arizona 250 GT, and has certified it to produce lenticular and Lensfree prints from HumanEyes software packages.

Oce and Humaneyes have worked together before to provide lenticular images from the Oce Lightjet series photo laser printers." He continued: "Humaneyes' insistence on providing highest quality products fits well with our philosophy for the Oce Arizona 250 GT.

Lenticular imaging is a distinctive and attention-grabbing method of visual communication requiring not only extremely high quality print output but also consistent repeatability.

Our customers will appreciate the ability to offer this unique application to their clients.

This certification assures an enhanced level of compatibility and quality assurance that our mutual customers expect.".
