Green consumables manufacturer Hydro-Dynamic Products, which was voted international company of the year at Ipex 2006, is enjoying a post-exhibition surge in export sales.

Green consumables manufacturer Hydro-Dynamic Products, which was voted international company of the year at Ipex 2006, is enjoying a post-exhibition surge in export sales.

The West-Sussex (UK) firm said it has clinched what it described as, "significant new business opportunities" in Turkey, Morocco, Australia and the United States, as well as experiencing increases in enquiries from Europe.

HDP managing director David Sheard said: "Ipex again demonstrated to us a growing worldwide support for the use of greener printing chemicals." He added: "This is now being translated in to firm orders for our products.

We noticed how many of the significant new business opportunities we attracted there came from overseas companies wanting to trade with an ISO 14001 accredited supplier with the infrastructure to develop and produce less environmentally destructive products." HDP said that it has established a global network of agents, distributors and licensed manufacturing partners supplying its UK-developed products in more than 80 countries.

It has gained a manufacturing foothold in Africa by securing a GBP50,000 export contract with Delmike Products, South Africa's leading print chemical supplier.

The two companies signed a technology transfer agreement that will result in HDP fountain solutions and solvents being made in Sout Africa, rather than shipped in from the UK for distribution.

Nearly a third of HDP's profits now stem from overseas business as the company moves to establish itself in every industrial nation in the world, added Sheard.
