Hydro-Dynamic Products has announced that, following successful initial trials, it is to launch a new range of lithographic inks.

It is the first time the company has ventured in to the competitive ink sector and the company explained that a decision to proceed with the launch was only made after receiving very positive feedback from the trials.

Craig Sage, print manager at Trowbridge (UK) Cromwell Press, where the inks were trialled, was impressed with the new inks and he said: "They are much denser, which means we can carry less and they print sharper, particularly the black, which produces very high quality half-tones.

Downtime for machine cleaning has also been substantially reduced." HDP sales manager Denis Byfield commented: "We anticipate the inks' strong colours and very competitive pricing will prove to be a winning combination.

It is, we believe, the most highly pigmented ink on the market and, therefore, ideal for printers who want to run alcohol free presses.

Although there is a lot of competition to contend with we are confident the high quality of our product is as good as the established premium brands and will be well received by printers." Hydro-Dynamic Products explained that extended trials of the new ink range are underway and West Sussex-based HDP, recently named international company of the year in the BPIF excellence awards, expects to soon have product available from stock.
