Dampening Solution Filter Sells Strongly

Five months after the launch of a new dampening solution filtration system Hydro-Dynamic Products has recorded the 60th sale of its Envirofilter.

Hydro-Dynamic Products said that more print companies are seeking to cut costs and improve their environmental performance by reducing their dependence on eco-damaging industrial alcohol.

The company claimed the Envirofilter prolongs the lifespan of dampening solution from weeks to months, eliminates calcium and keeps the fountain system in optimum condition.

It is also said to more than halve solution costs and reduces the amount of environmental waste and the cost of its disposal, whilst cutting costly drain downs by up to four times.

The Envirofilter is also claimed to be equally efficient at maintaining water quality on presses using low-alcohol or no alcohol solutions.

One Envirofilter unit is sufficient to filter a 12-colour press but larger units are available, said Hydro-Dynamic Products (HDP).

HDP managing director David Sheard said the maintenance-free unit is easy to install.

Filters can be changed whilst the press is in use and no electric power is required because it utilises the compressed air unit already installed on the press and can be easily screwed to the inside or outside of the dampening cabinet.

He explained: "We're now receiving a lot of feedback from customers using the technology and they're telling us that their dampening solution quality is greatly improved, with reduced contamination and consistent conductivity over a prolonged period.

We're confident the Envirofilter is the most reliable and cost-effective unit of its kind on the market.

Under normal conditions the initial cost of installing the unit can be recovered in just four to six months.".
