Itek Colour Graphics (ICG), the high-end scanner manufacturer has launched Scanxact XI, a new version of the company's Scanxact drum scanner software.

Itek Colour Graphics (ICG), the high-end scanner manufacturer has launched Scanxact XI, a new version of the company's Scanxact drum scanner software.

The new release features extensive developments to the dynamic colour range enabling users to successfully scan a broader spectrum of originals.

It also introduces a refinement to the RGB scanning process, which translates in to superior colour to colour reproduction from the user's originals, said ICG.

Scanxact XI's development of the colour range is said to now permit greater tonal capture from negative film, whilst other features include improved colour negative scanning to match client's photographic contact sheets and the ability to achieve RGB scanning from mono negatives, added the company.

ICG director Ian Smith said: "We've put all of our efforts in to achieving the highest possible capture quality from colour negative film and we've found that our clients appreciate the difference.

The extra definition and colour range gives us an order winning edge over the competition.

Existing ICG customers will also be pleased to note that Scanxact XI retains the ICC link feature, which has proved popular because of the demand to work in a colour managed workflow.".
